17.10.2011 - THE FINAL FIGHT

Practice: I had never been to the circuit before so was looking forward to learning it. Glynn and I spent most of session 1 learning the track, before simulating qualifying runs in session 2, and being very happy with our pace, finishing in the top ten.

Qualifying: My session was interrupted by 2 red flags meaning I only completed 1 lap, so the tyres were still cold, however I managed to qualify 7th out of 31 cars. Glynn struggled with the car set up, so finished his session 20th.

Race 1: I made a good, clean start and maintained 7th place all the way until the driver change 30 minutes into the race. After the pit stop, tyre wear issues on all the Ferrari's meant we struggled for pace, and Glynn fought hard to maintain the best position possible, and we finished the race in 14th.

Race 2: Glynn started in 20th, but due to the competitiveness of the grid, could not make up any positions. After the pit stop, I was in 22nd position, and fought as hard as possible to finish the race in 18th, consistently matching the leaders lap times.

It was a disappointing end to the season, we both had hoped to end the year with a good result. It has been a very tough season, with the level of competition being much harder than expected.
